This is a basic skirt with a twist - the front is contoured to fit your bump. There are no horizontal seams, which makes this skirt perfect for those who can't stand pressure on their belly. We even included instructions on how to remove the "bump" on the front of your skirt after your pregnancy.
Our Bump Hugger Pant pattern was so popular, we turned it into a skirt! This is a basic skirt with a twist - the front is contoured to fit your bump. There are no horizontal seams, which makes this skirt perfect for those who can't stand pressure on their belly. We even included instructions on how to remove the bump on the front of your skirt after your pregnancy.
Pattern options: Pencil skirt, flared, or super flared. Optional patch pocket. Five lengths - mini, knee, midi, maxi regular, and maxi tall.
Difficulty: Very easy!
Fabric: Knits with good drape. Horizontal stretch of 60%. Vertical stretch of 40% required. Bamboo/spandex, merino/spandex, cotton/spandex, yoga knit, double brushed polyester, ITY.
Yardage: Between half a yard and 3.5 yards, depending on the length and size. Flare gussets add one yard. Detailed chart in the images above, and in the tutorial.
Special supplies needed: Knit elastic, between 1/4 and 1 wide.
Maternity friendly: Yes, this pattern is only for maternity.
Nursing friendly: N/A
Size range: 14 adult sizes from 0 - 26. Waist 28 - 69in / 71 - 175cm
Fit: Without the gussets, the skirt is fitted to the hip then lightly flared to allow for movement without needing a slit.
Pockets: Double layer patch pocket.
Time to complete: Very quick. Under an hour.
